The Voice Studio
for singers only
Who We Are

Part of the broader group of teachers making up the Conservatory Teaching in Your
Community, The Voice Studio
is a separate studio for serious singers only.  We train
classical, opera, musical theater and some popular voices.  Singing is approached in
both a technical and musical manner.  As artistic as we love to be as we sing there is a
certain amount of technique required to actually perform artistically.  Repertoire
seminars are held so the students can perform before each other and critique each other
as well.  Recitals are held yearly and participation is greatly encouraged.

Evelyn V. Czaja is the main voice teacher and has been teaching since 1986.  She has
worked with many different genres, and has also worked in the area of vocal repair.
She has performed extensively in the Chicago and Boston areas in both opera and
recitals.  She also manages her own
Piano Division, and teaches beginning piano and
music theory to general piano students and to voice students wanting to improve their
musical abilities. Besides teaching she is active in the Metropolis of Boston Federation
of Greek Orthodox Church Musicians.

Ms. Czaja has staged several operas both in the local community and at university
level.  She is also a Beauty Advisor/Makeup Artist and has done stage makeup as well
as skincare/makeup consultations to help the emerging artist look his/her best.

Ms. Czaja holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and a Master of Arts in
Applied Vocal Pedagogy.  She belongs to the Music Teachers National Association,
the National Association of Teachers of Singing, Boston Singers Resources and the
National Forum of Greek Orthodox Church Musicians.

"Singing is the lifeblood of any singer.  If you have been given the gift of voice you have
been blessed.  It is your job to use this gift and it is my job to train it in the healthiest,
most professional manner possible."
